Getting Started
What is NomBot?
NomBot is a restaurant recommendation app that helps you decide where to eat. Tell us roughly what you're in the mood for, tap "spin," and NomBot surfaces a nearby restaurant picked just for you. Think of it as a friendly nudge for when "anywhere is fine" isn't fine.
How do I sign in?
NomBot uses Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. There is no email/password option right now. Both paths are one-tap, do not require a password, and keep your account tied to an identity you already trust.
Why does NomBot need my location?
NomBot recommends restaurants near you, so your current location is required to generate a spin. We only use your location while the app is open. We do not track you in the background. If you deny location access, spins will not work until permission is granted.
How many spins do I get per day?
Free accounts get 3 spins per day. The window rolls for 24 hours from your first spin of the day, not a midnight clock reset. Each spin surfaces 3 picks. If you want unlimited spins, upgrade to Pro ($4.99/month) or grab a Founders lifetime pass (see the Subscriptions section below).
Subscriptions & Purchases
What's the difference between Pro and Founders?
Both unlock unlimited spins and premium features.
Pro is a recurring subscription at $4.99/month. Cancel anytime through Apple.
Founders is a one-time purchase of $49.99 for lifetime access. It's limited to the first 1000 supporters as a thank-you to early believers. Once those 1000 slots are gone, the Founders option disappears for good.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google Play, whichever store processed the purchase. We cannot cancel on your behalf.
On iPhone or iPad: Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then NomBot, then Cancel Subscription.
On Android: open the Google Play app, go to Subscriptions, select NomBot, then Cancel subscription, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Either way, you'll keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled directly by the store that processed the purchase.
Apple: visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and request a refund for NomBot.
Google Play: go to play.google.com, open your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Budget & order history, find the NomBot purchase, and choose Report a problem to request a refund.

What happens to my Pro status if I uninstall the app?
Nothing. Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID, not the app install. Reinstall NomBot, sign in with the same account you used originally, and Pro will restore automatically. If it does not, tap "Restore Purchases" in Settings.
I bought Founders - how do I see it's active?
Open NomBot and go to Settings. Your plan is shown at the top of the account section. Founders shows as "Founders - Lifetime" and Pro shows as "Pro" with the next renewal date. If your status looks wrong after a fresh install, tap "Restore Purchases" to re-sync with the app store.
Privacy & Account
How do I delete my account?
You can fully delete your account from inside the app: Profile > Account > Delete Account. This removes your profile, spin history, and any personal data tied to your NomBot account. The action is permanent, there is no undo.
What data does NomBot collect?
Short version: the minimum needed to give you recommendations. Your account identity (from Apple or Google), your current location while the app is open, and your spin history. We also collect basic diagnostics and crash logs to keep the app stable.

No. We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever. We only share data with the service providers that help NomBot run (like authentication and crash reporting), and only what they need to do their job.
How do I report a bug?
Email us with the following and we can usually reproduce it quickly:
- What you were doing when it happened
- What you expected to see
- What happened instead
- Your device (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 18.2) and the NomBot version (shown at the bottom of Settings)
